Barge "Maureen Eva" at Sprottborough on the Sheffield & South Yorkshire Navigation. This was the last general cargo barge in the British Waterways Hull fleet. 14th July 2006. |
The Allied Mills grain barge "Chaceley" at the silo at Gloucester on 12th September 1996. "Chaceley" and sister vessel "Tirley" were purchased in the 1970s and had previously worked on the Humber. |
Allied Mills grain barges "Apperley", "Deerhurst" and "Bushley" at Gloucester in 1993. All three were built by Charles Hill in Bristol in 1933-34. Only "Deerhurst" is a powered vessel. |

The former London river barge "Halo" beached by the River Wye at Chepstow. To the left of the sheds in the far background it is just possible to see the severed bow and stern of the barge "Painswick" which was raised from the bed of Gloucester & Sharpness Canal at Sharpness in 1999.
